This morning I woke up with the song “There was Jesus” by Zach Williams and Dolly Parton on my mind. It just kept playing over and over like it was on repeat. Then I started getting ready for work, and I turned my music on and what do you know, the song starts playing. I love how God does that; it’s like he wants you to know he’s right there with you at that moment. I also knew this would be my next post. 😊
I love the song, I don’t know if you have ever heard it or listened to the words, but the song is about how no matter where you have been in this life or what you have been through, Jesus has always been there. He has been there when no one else was. In the times you thought you were walking these roads alone or were at your lowest point, he was there. I love the chorus in the song; it says, “In the waiting, in the searching, in the healing, in the broken, like a blessing buried in the broken pieces, every minute, every moment, where I’ve been or where I’m going, even when I didn’t know it, or couldn’t see it, there was Jesus.” So good and so true!
I think back on my life and how I’ve had many times when I felt so alone or lost and was unsure of what my next move would be, and even though I felt alone, he was always there. He never left me. I think of times when I was waiting on answers or waiting to see about new opportunities; he was there with me through the wait. When my heart had been breaking, and no one could comfort me, he was there. What an incredible friend! I have some great friends in this world, but even though they are great, they’ll never be as great as Jesus.
There is a scripture in Proverbs that says, “There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.” Do you know who that friend is? Jesus. He is the very best friend you could ever ask for, and I hope you all know he loves you and he is there whenever you need him. If you haven’t heard the song, check it out. I promise you will love it.
Also, if you ever need a friend or someone to talk to, I’ll be happy to lend a shoulder; send me a message. 😊
Love to you all,
